SECOND GO-ROUND OF 33RD IFYR KICKS OFF WITH THRILLING DISPLAYS OF YOUTH TALENT
The second go-round of the 33rd annual International Finals Youth Rodeo (IFYR) is officially underway, showcasing some of the brightest youth rodeo talent in the country.
During the first day of the second go-round, barrel racing continued to heat up, delivering the fastest times of the week so far. Currently leading the round is Zoey Carpenter (Rutledge, Ala.), who completed the cloverleaf pattern in a thrilling 16.166 seconds.
Lone Star State cowgirl Carsyn Holbrook (Cibolo, Texas) set the pace for the remainder of the week with a blazing 19.946-second pole bending run. Holbrook became the first — and only — cowgirl of the 2025 IFYR to break the 20-second barrier in the event.
In the first performance of the second go-round, all eyes were on Raegan Chance (Mendenhall, Miss.) as she clocked an impressive 2.0-second run in breakaway roping. She was quickly joined at the top of the leaderboard by Makenna Goemmer (Nowata, Okla.), who matched the time during the evening performance to tie for the lead.
First go-round goat tying champion Alli Autrey (Anson, Texas) repeated her success with a vengeance. Tying her second goat in 7.6 seconds, she currently leads the average with a cumulative time of 15.1 seconds on two runs.
Home-state cowboy Blaze Carter (Seminole, Okla.) lived up to his name with a “blazing” 7.9-second run in calf roping, becoming the first athlete of the 2025 IFYR to break the 8-second mark in the event.
During the morning steer wrestling performance, Rawley Arballo (Wittmann, Ariz.) brought the heat to Shawnee, setting the pace with an impressive 3.7-second run.
In saddle bronc riding, North Carolina cowboy Luke Bullard (Autryville, N.C.) made the eight-second whistle in style, scoring 70.0 points to take the go-round lead.
Bull rider Braxton Whitesell (Walker, La.) topped the evening performance with a strong 82.5-point ride.
Fisher Burnworth (DeQuincy, La.) repeated his success from round one, putting together another qualified ride in bareback riding. Scoring 78.0 points in the second go-round, he now takes the early aggregate lead.
In the team roping, Kelton Denham (Collinsville, Texas) and Wyatt Howell (De Leon, Texas) roped their steer in an impressive 4.3 seconds, marking the fastest time of the week so far.
Rodeo action continues with Performance 6 at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center and runs through the evening of July 11.
